Ethics Workshop

I attended the Ethics workshop on September 17th.  The beginning of the workshop was basically the instructor asking moral questions and having you choose the side of the room that you felt was the right decision.  Afterward, the instructor handed out a sheet of paper saying that a certain group of people on a ship would need to be saved because the ship was going to sink.  I did not really feel that it is our place to decide who lives and dies and it was personally challenging to have people’s lives in your hands, even if they were fake.

arts at baruch

i went to the Nature of Photography at the Sydney Mishkin Gallery. The exhibit was fun and intersting. The photos were nice, black and white pictures .  The details were very good because of the point of views they were taken from.  the woman who toured us around was very nice and explained the details of each photo we obseved in great detail which made the tour more fun.

Student Life

I went to the Blood Drive with Janella, Marlon, and Dana on October 7.  The blood drive was fun because they gave out free food and juice.  Also being there made me feel good and helpful even though I was unable to give blood.

career exploration

I attended the career planning and goal setting workshop on October 22.  It was very helpful because it gave information about applying for internships.  This workshop was helpful because it gave information about what information you may need to have on your resume and what goals to set for yourself while in an intership.  It was intersting because it was crowd interactive which kept it lively and fun.

academic enrichment

I went to the the freshman workshop on September 14.  It was pretty informative. Also i learned a variety of information that would benifit me in my college career.  I’m glad I went to this workshop because I actually enjoyed a little because the woman speaking was very funny and informed in what she was speaking about.

Blood Drive

On October 6, 2009, in the multi-purpose room, Dana, Marlon, Shaterra and I went to the blood drive to donate blood. Although only Dana and I donated, it was nice to see how people were willing to donate something that we don’t really think about, blood. There are so many people across the nation and around the world in need of blood and I was more than happy to contribute to this (although I think that the blood is only for people in New York). I was surprised that it didn’t take long for me to donate a pint of blood (it only took about 4-5 minutes for me).

5th Enrichment Workshop

The fifth enrichment workshop that I attended was the Arts at Baruch workshop. The title of the workshop was “The Nature of Landscape/ Photo” in the Sidney Mishkin Gallery. In the gallery, a lot of photographs were displayed on the walls with brief descriptions about them. It was very interesting seeing the photographs and what they represented or meant. I was also like the fact that Baruch has its own art gallery.

4th Enrichment Workshop

The fourth enrichment workshop that I attended was the Career Exploration workshop called “Career Planning” workshop. In this workshop, located in the multi-purpose room, I learned a lot about the Starr Career Development Center and about undergraduate internships. This workshop was really helpful although a bit long.
