Student Fair

This workshop was lively to say the least.  I actually visited a club I was interested in from the student fair and I think I will continue in it. It was fun walking around with Jordan and the crew.

1st Enrichment Workshop

The first workshop that I attended at Baruch was the Community-Global Awareness and the title of the workshop was “The Big 4 Panel Presentation & Career Forum.” It was really interesting to be there and attend my first workshop. Although I wasn’t there for the entire time, I got a lot of information and it was nice.

Big 4 Panel

This panel was in my opinion, geared towards students at a higher level in Baruch (like Graduate students). The panel was done by the Big 4 accounting firms to let students know what they look for in potential employees. Basically all the information given we knew already.

Art Gallery

Hey People,

So I went to the Art Gallery for the Arts at Baruch workshop and it was interesting to say the least. There were some cool pieces to look at like the pieces with the overhead shots by a pilot. Like most of the workshops…there was a large number of students there so everything was kind of rushed but I didn’t mind 😀 Overall it was okay.

Cheering Section

I had fun cheering on the people at the breast cancer walk even though it was freezing cold and raining. It was for a good cause so i was happy to do it.

Annual student services fair

I attend the annual student services fair today. It was very informative, I got to know more about different kind of useful services offer at Baruch. It was fun too, since you can enter your name into a raffle to win a t-shirt. I also got some free stuff, which is pretty cool.

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

I attended the Saturday, Oct. 10th Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for my community service requirement. AlthoughI got there 90 minutes early, it was worth the wait because some of my students actually showed up! Having familiar faces around from Baruch helped standing in the chilly weather bearable. Acting as apart of the Baruch College cheering section was me, and fellow peer mentors, Trevene Chance and Paola Feliz. Students of mine who attended were Janella, Leo, and Shaterra and I very much enjoyed their company. It felt good to cheer on the walkers because I could tell that the event was meaningful for a lot of people and to be a part of that was very special. It was my first time ever attending a walk for bfreast cancer and I believe that next year I would prefer to walk the entire 40 miles rather than stand and clap for 2 hrs on a Saturday afternoon.

Blood Drive

On Tuesday 10/6 a few of us attended the blood drive. It was my our first time giving blood, and I have to say it was worth it. The people were nice and helpful. They answered all my questions, and they were very efficient, as well as clean. After I gave blood they had snacks, pins, and T-shirts for us. Sadly we missed the Art tour, but like i said it was worth it. One of the doctors told me that I was strong, and that my blood will really help save someones life. I can’t wait until the next blood drive.

AIESEC meeting

The other day a few us attended the AIESEC meeting. They had a lot to offer and were very interesting. I’d love to travel to a different country and do some work. I signed up and I hope I can get some money together to participate. If not now, I will always have next year.
