Escalators!

I really want to know why the escalators from the 2nd floor to the 5th floor do not run. It’s hard walking up and down from them. First of all, they’re narrow and the people going up bump into the people going down and vice versa. Second, the’re dangerous especially since they seem to mesmerize you while going down. Third, they’re just fun to ride on!

Thoughts on Baruch thus far?

So far the entire duration of my time at Baruch as been a pleasure. I enjoy the campus, student body and look foward to joining and experiencing all the different clubs, organizations, and social groups that the college is teeming with. Baruch truly is different in the fact that  no other place in the world could we be this diverse. Unlike the rest of the planet, it seems that our country has been one of the few to embrace different groups of people from all different creeds, religons, and ethnic background from its very beginning, though not to say our past Americans did not have their flaws. But for the most part, the amazing amount of cultural diffusion that has successfully created one of the most important and influential cities of human history is nothing short of a phenomenon. And I urge you all to realize the value and oppertunity of that. I feel as that the choice to come to Baruch to continue my education has put me in the perfect place to utilize all that the college and the city itself has to offer.

My First Post!

Hey guys!

I heard that for college, study groups good to form when it comes to finals, midterms, tests, etc. They’re also really good for moral support.  So, since we are already stuck together, and since we’re probably most familiar with one other in this school by now, I feel like we should form a study group. We can meet once a week or once every other week, and maybe a little more during weeks when we have midterms or finals. Let me know what you think!

Also, in a study group, it is good to know what our strengths and weaknesses are as students. My personal weakness is that I become side-tracked with random thoughts while I’m studying. How weird is that? The only thing that distracts me is my own random, domino like thought process. My strength is that after I understand a concept for myself, I’m able to break it down easier to help others understand. Plus, I’m a pretty decent note-taker, and I sit in the front row of the lecture hall for PSYC. (Professor Albright looks really different when he’s close up).

Anyway, so I was wondering if you all would just comment on what your strengths and weaknesses are as students, and also let me know if you’re interested in the study group. Thanks! See you all Monday!

Elevators

I can’t stand how the elevator skips some floors. I always thought that an elevator was suppose to stop on each and every floor. It seems like such a hassle for some lazy people like myself to have to ride the elevator to the 5th floor then walk  up a flight stairs just to get to the sixth.

Our Peer Mentor

I know it has only been 2 weeks, but will everyone agree that Jordan has been a superb peer mentor?

I feel like he has been happy to help us out with anything we need, and has been very efficient in telling us what we need to know as Freshmen. On top of that, he just seems like a cool guy.

I’m not trying to get Kudos here from Jordan, but just wanted to say “Thank You” 🙂
