Annual Student Services Fair Fall ’09

On Tuesday, 10/13/09, I went with my friends to a workshop I didn’t know was being held. It was the Annual Student Services Fair and it was pretty familiar to the Club Fair, except this workshop informed us about the different offices at Baruch, such as the Health Office or the Bursar Office. I walked around to the different tables and spoke to a lot of people and asked a lot of questions. We also had to carry around a small card and have it hole-punched in order to take part in a raffle. I thought it was a pretty good experience because I discovered offices that I could go to for help if I needed to in the future and by asking questions, I really learned a lot about the different things that Baruch had. It was also a bonding experience because I traveled in a group from each table and we all asked questions and stuck together. I also felt like this workshop was a lot more organized because the staff signed our books only if we had gone to at least 10 of the many tables, which meant that they wanted us to go around the entire room and be informed. There was also a raffle at 1:30 PM where they picked out our hole-punched cards with names on them and gave out prizes. I won a Baruch t-shirt so it was definitely a memorable experience.
