Fresh Start Workshop

So on September 17th I went to my first workshop. It was a workshop for freshman at the Center for Academic Advisement.  When I arrived there was an overload of people. They were signing freshmans planners, but they were not giving a meeting or what ever was intentionally planned because there were so many people. It was like a free event for some people. I however actually got to attend the meeting that they orignally had scheduled by some stroke of luck. I went into a small room and was asked if i wanted to listen to what they were originally going to tell everyone. Of course I took up the offer.  We were seated on a small table, about 6 of us I think including myself, and we were told about all the requirements Baruch has. It was in depth talk about I guess the prerequisites as we move through our education.  This woman talked to us about the different Tiers in Baruch and also about the various credits and what steps we need to go through to earn them. The woman told us about all of the prerequisites and also about the major specific courses that we would have to attend if we wanted to join the business school or the school for public affairs. I found the whole meeting to be a great use of my time. It was very informative and I walked away knowing a bit more of the structure of Baruch. It took the complicated mess that is Baruchs Tiers and made sense of it.

wow ! i’m so glad someone got a positive experience out of this chaotic workshop!

baruch’s academic requirements aren’t all that confusing if you give it time, which you did, so yay, props for you! 🙂
i hope our later “Academic Success Strategies” made it MORE clear (you know, when the guy came in to talk to two sections?).

if you’re ever still at a lost, you can contact me. 🙂
