Community-Global Awareness

For my community-global awarness workshop, I went on the annual walk for Breast Cancer around central park On October 18th. I did this walk a few years ago with my sister and her job, around a different park in new rochelle, about 4-5 years ago. I was told about this years location around central park by my club (Black Students Union) secretary. I had missed the blood drive, which I was going to use as my global awareness workshop, but when this opportunity came along I felt that it would be just as good of a cause. We met up about 8 oclock and walked 72nd street to 110th st from the east side, then back down to 72nd st on the westside. It was a pretty long walk, but for a good cause. Breast cancer has definetly become a big issue among women, I dont personally know anyone with breast cancer, but I still am aware of the amount of deaths it causes. I also found it interesting how me joining a club helped me to find a different outlet to fulfill my requirement.

i’m glad you went! did you see me? haha. i was cheering somewhere near the end before everyone walked back into the park (the volunteer tee shirts were awesome).

anyhow, i still think it’s awesome that went to support this cause! a cure breast cancer needs all the support it can get!
