during the discussion we had in enlish class today, i felt that some people were offended by what i said about asian authors. it wasn’t my attention to offend anyone, and i did not criticize asian writers for not producing good works. my whole point was that there are many talented aisan people who have the potential of being great authors, yet due to the influence of their family (especially for chinese families) they choose to take on jobs that are more math or science related. at the same time, most of the books i read by asian writers, namely chinese, were all about their hardships coming to the U.S. Though, i appreciate reading that, i would also like to see more variety, since there aren’t a lot of nobel authors that are chinese in the U.S.
at the same time, today during political science, i wans’t showing any dislike towards any particular group. my point was that even though my family is chinese, but we did not live in a chinese neighborhood because we want to live in a place with more diversity and a better school district. i guess i used certain words wrongly that might of gave the wrong impression to some class mates. in the future, i will be more cautious of the words i use in order to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding among the class.
It’s really ok because you’re just speaking your mind and that is perfectly ok with me. Just keep on doing wat you’re doing and everything will be ok!
You need to relax, yea what you said sounded a little mean but everyone knows you didn’t say things in the way you think you did so chill out.
