So I was wondering if anyone was feeling the same way I do about English class. I mean it’s great having a class that’s so layed back but for me, personally, it’s just getting to a point where I’m not challenged at all and, because of that, losing all interest in the class alltogether, which is something that I hate to do. It was nice having a class that was like that in the beginning of the year, a class at the end of the day thats pretty layed back after two classes (political science and history) that are pure lecture. But now, for me at least, it’s getting to the point where I think to myself, “wow, there’s so many other productive things I could be doing with my time than this”. I have all the respect in the world for our proffesor, don’t get me wrong, but I wish it was just a bit more than just freewrites and “discussion”, with the occasional written assignment. Not saying I want to get bogged down with homework or that I want an absurdly dificult class, all I’m saying is that I wish the class had enough substance where I could find it interesting because really, I’m not too sure how many freewrites I can possibly do.

I totally agree with you guys. i dont think the freewrites are helping at all with improving my writing skills. i thought college was supposed to be challenging… this is just plain stupid if you ask me
i actually enjoy the discussions/group works we have in english. however, i agree with jalene on the way our professor speaks, since her voice makes people fall asleep faster than ambience. i’m really not trying to be mean or sarcastic, but i literally see people in front of me drifting to sleep. anyway, i hope the rest of the semester will be better!
i know. i didn’t mind the free writes at first, But now i’m kinda getting sick of them. And this is supposed to be a writing class right? so why aren’t we doin any writing? I dont really consider the free writes as writing though. I like it cuz its not stressfull and i don’t have to worry too much about it. But something to create intrest would be nice.
exactly,, and there’s one more thing,, she always speak in a monotone which really turns me off. Eva and I were saying that we felt like she wants to leave the classroom even more than we do. Well, if that’s the case, she is more than welcome to do so. I can’t imagine of having to write “freewrites” for the rest of the semester,, that’s ridiculous!
