November 18 I went ot the Sydney Mishkin gallery on 23rd street for the Mercedes Matter exhibit. As everyone had already stated, it was pretty bad. The line went around the lobby and it was 1 and half hours wait. I was getting pretty irritated because im naturally an impatient person. I was so mad when I found out the exhibit was a 15 minute tour of a few paintings of triangles made by a grown woman…I really did not find anything special or interesting about this, which made me question: what is art?

Monday December 7th I made an appointment for math turtoring at the SACC center. It was incredibly convenient because not only did this cover my academic enrichment requirement but I also got to review for my math test the next day. My tutor Sophia was very helpful and I actually learned something mathematically related for the first time. They explained to me how to make a tutoring appointment online and its really easy, i would recommend this to everyone but sadly apppintments are only an hour long and there is more than one student per tutor which sometimes makes it complicated.

I like many others did my Academic Enrichment back in September. It was called Database Survival they were teaching students how to use the Brauch library’s network. I found it a complete waste of time because I had been to the library before and had already found out all the uses I need, but whatever. It ended up being a good waste of time. ( don’t threaten me anymore sasha please!!)

at first i was pretty much dragged to japan club by a friend of mine who speaks fluently and wanted some people to talk to. but i stuck around because i found a lot of people who i enjoyed talking to and everyone was generally really nice which i totally appreciated after some more negative experiences at baruch. plus i found a workout buddy there who is really awesome and fun to hang out with at the gym

i went to the club fair but like a complete tard forgot to find sasha and show i was there. it was ok and i signed up for a quite a few clubs but the majority of them didnt even bother to reply back via the emails thy collected but whatever it didnt phase me.

yeah… about that… i had no idea who the artist was and at the end of the tour honestly wasn’t very impressed. pretty i felt like a cat on a leash while being guided through the art exhibit, but luckily it was pretty short and i got to enjoy the rest of my break by grabbing chinese food and playing basketball

for my community awareness requirement i choose to volunteer to give blood instead of some of the more boring options. i used to give blood all the time when i was back in high school and i look forward to keep doing it now.

So back in september I did for my Academic Enrichment the Fresh Start thing at the Center for Academic Advisement. They said they were going to have refreshments which they didn’t, and it was so crowded that the line literally went to the other side of the floor. To be honest, it really wasn’t much. They just gave us a folder with some papers in it that I lost later, and signed my book. It was the epitome of the failure of the Workshop system, im my opinion. I didn’t learn anything and they were not prepared at all for the amount of people that showed up.

Well for this workshop we went into the library and we learned to use google which i found useless. I think the instructors of this workshop thought we were dumb because they were teaching us how to type as if we didn’t own computers. After that we learned stuff about google but mainly i just wanted to leave because i didnt gain anything from this workshop, i think this is the one that should be improved above the rest.
