Resume Writing

I attended the resume workshop last week and I think it’s pretty interesting. First, it caused only 40 minutes long. Unlike the other workshop that caused a lot of time. The career planning workshop actually does not require you to dress in business formal and I did not dress up. The presenter tried to make the workshop not to boring. He also gave us a worksheet. It included the functional formal resume. Within the resume, we can write about our strength and skills. For example, if you earned certain kinds of award, you can put that on your resume.

One thing I really like the about the workshop is he gave us a lot of formal words where we can put on our resume and even use them for our essays. The guy first asked us how we describe our strength. We answered in simple words such as, patient, counting money, writing, etc. Then he told us that we can use more formal words to describe ourselves on the resume or during the interview. Before I go to the workshop, I did not know that you can put “counting money” as “financial transaction skill”. If you have never employed before you can also put your volunteer activities as your working experience. It also provides you to prepare before your interview. He reminds us that we should check over the resume before we hand in. Totally, the workshop is helpful, as least; it is more useful than the art because I am not an art person. =p
