student life workshop(USG)

I attended a student life workshop called “Town Hall Meeting” in NVC 3-165 on November 10, 2009 which was running by USG, the undergraduate student government. This workshop is the best for me so far. Because it’s really help me a lot. Unlike workshops I attended before, this workshop is pretty good organized and the whole process goes fluently.
The workshop started at 12:30 pm, which I think most people were starving at this time. The workshop runners were really thoughtful, they serve pizza and soda before the workshop started, even though the pizzas were not delicious, but I felt warm in my heart. The workshop started by the presentation from the president of USG. He’s doing really well on that. He introduced who they are, what they are doing, and what they are trying to do. And later on, there were several presentations from the USG members.
In fact, this workshop is really helpful. It addressed a lot of questions that freshmen have, and the USG members were really patient to answer questions we had. Such as how the school runs, where the student activities budgets go, how clubs gain money, the problems on escalators between 2nd and 4th floors, problems on elevators, problems on dealing with “stupid” professors and etc.
Before this workshop, I was kind of one foot in high school and one foot in college, but now, I think I’m on the track to put both of my feet into college. Baruch is a great school, I think I’m getting more and more familiar with it now.
Once again this workshop is really helpful.
