Freshman Open House 2009

Since we had to blog about each of our workshops, might as well start off with our freshman open house that was on September 17, 2009. It was really interesting but veeeerrry crowded. There were so many people cramped up into like this small room but I liked the academic adviser that I had at my table. She filled me in on a lot of the classes we had to take and everything else we needed to know about our majors. It was nice to learn more about what I’d have to take for the next four years, but it’s also going to be very hard cause college, unlike high school, does not have COUNSELORS, and that mean’s we have to do everything ourselves. I hope all of us won’t stress out and hopefully survive the next four years of college (:

You guys should go to an advisor because they actually help you plan exactly when you should take which class. They’ll also take into consideration what your major is and what your planning on doing after college (like maybe law school).

The open house was ridiculous. There were too many people packed into one small section and it took forever to get inside. I wish they were more prepared to deal with the huge crowd and all I did was get my book signed and got the folder with all the information about the minors/requirements. I have to go see an academic advisor some time and I hope they’ll be helpful because in high school, some of the counselors were also teachers so they barely had time to answer our questions.
