Hi my name is Megan
sorry I have not written in my blog yet..it’s been a hectic first couple of weeks of college- especially since I’ve been in the wrong freshman seminar class about 4 of the 6 weeks we’ve been in school. I guess this is what learning is all about =/ . Anyway, last week in freshman seminar, we learned about giving presentations. We learned about the things you should and shouldn’t do during a presentation and we were able to see examples of presentations that were acceptable and unacceptable. This ( as well as taking speech my senior year of high school) helped me a great deal during writing class this week. In my writing class, each student was given a section in Joseph Campbell’s book, A Hero with a Thousand Faces, and had to explain to the class what their section was all about. I felt confident about my knowledge for my section and hopefully it showed during my presentation. I kept all the key facts in my head about what a good presentation contains. I kept my posture straight, eye contact with my audience, and spoke loud and clear so everyone could hear my statements on my section. My teacher seemed to enjoy it- well I hope she did. Anyway, the class about presentations came at the right time for me and I’m happy to take things I learn in one class and use them to my advantage in other classes.
