New York Cares Day

Seems almost like yesterday when I had to wake up semi-early on a Saturday to volunteer at New York Cares Day. So great day as it was, it started great. I took the subway and it took me 2+ hours to get to the place where the event was held. When I got there, I spent maybe 10 minutes looking for the actual site, was a wonderfully cloudy day. After I came in, I was greeted by paint brushes, the joy on everyone’s face was priceless. Jenny dabbed my shirt to welcome me to the group and the fun started. I was tasked with painting over the things that people had painted for the last 2 hours. I also helped with many minor details such as small unpainted spots. Afterwords, I helped with the clean up effort, we got those stains good! And so, after a hard hour’s worth of work, we were done. Grand day it was, I rewarded myself by going to ToysRus after. It was fun. Thanks for reading all this.

Yea, it took us ten minutes to realize that the mysterious spots of paint on the floor were coming from our shoes! We walk to the right with a rag, turn around there’s more to wipe! Repeat about five times before we go, hey, check our shoes… What a slow moment.
