Freshman Reception

Freshman Reception, which took place on 09/17/09 around 12:30, was great in theory as it was supposed to inform us of courses we should take and how things operate, yet it was disorganized since students were confused as to what was happening being stuck in that massive traffic. At least that’s what was happening when I showed up. I don’t think this was supposed to take us out of our comfort zones since answers to our questions were in handouts, however the staff was really friendly though you could see signs of anxiety on their faces because  it was so chaotic. I can’t say I learned anything new from this experience and I don’t really think it is necessary for students to attend because if they have questions they could just come by and pick up few handouts. If they would still be confused I’m sure staff wouldn’t mind explaining it to them.
Intentions of the workshop were great but I think it would be more effective if all the info would be e-mailed to us: it’s faster and more convenient!
