Title: Challenge your Values – Let’s talk Ethics
Category: Community-Global Awareness
Date/Time: 9/30, 12:50 – 2:30
In this workshop, an instructor discussed ethics (right/wrong, morals, etc) and how everyone has different views about what is right/wrong and how ethics isn’t just black and white. Sometimes it depends on situations, your environment and how you’re brought up.
I selected this workshop because I wanted to learn more about different ethics and other people’s views on ethics. It took me out of my comfort zone because ethics is not really something I think about all the time so I was really surprised about the situations she presented and how I would react to the situations. This workshop met my expectations because the instructor basically let the students lead the discussion and I got to view the other side of things (other people’s choices and their justifications). I would recommend this workshop to other students if they want to learn to be more open minded because this workshop helps student see both sides of the situation like I did. I learned to see the other side which what I’m not used to so it was an eye opener. Some things I could take away from this is learning to see both sides of a situation before I make a decision and learn how to judge other people when they make their decisions because everyone is different.
