Well today I basically went to donate blood. It’s pretty self explanatory. This was for the Global-Community Awareness workshop. The goals of this workshop was pretty much to find donors with healthy blood who are willing to share a little bit of it with those who need it more than they do. I selected this particular workshop because I’ve always wanted to give blood but the last time I tried I was really nervous so my pulse was too high. Then when I saw this event by Student Life, I immediately signed up.
Everything was pretty cool at first. I just had to fill out a few papers then have a nurse ask a few questions and run a few tests. Then when it was finally time to donate, I felt my nerves a lot more. When they revealed the needle I realized it was a lot thicker than a regular needle you’d see at the doctor’s office. I was pretty scared but it wasn’t all the bad once they stuck the needle in. It was pretty fast for me I ended before a lot of other people and didn’t feel dizzy or anything. I got a free shirt and free food too. It was pretty cool. I think I’ll donate again next time.
