Actuarial Science Presentation

On October 22, during club hours. The Math Department organized a presentation for people who are interested in pursuing a career as an actuary and the actuarial science major. The presentation was mainly done by an actuary that currently works at NY Life. She discussed the career as well as about the insurance company she works for. Also there were two actuaries there from Guardian Life who told us about how Guardian Life sponsors Baruch students who pursue this major. This presentation also discussed the benefits of the actuarial science major which was a concern of mine. I found this presentation really helpful. Coming into the presentation I was hesitant about how to pursue my goal, which is to be an actuary. There are many ways of going about this at Baruch. But after this presentation I was set on pursuing actuarial science through the math major. I found this presentation extremely helpful and enlightening.
