Mercedes Matter

I went to the Art at Baruch Workshop: Gallery tour: Mercedes Matter at 1:00 pm on 11/03/09 in Miskin Gallery.

The workshop was a brief 30 minute tours of the paintings done by Mercedes Matters. My tour guide was very insightful on Matter’s life as well as her paintings. The reason why i chose this particular workshop was because i was free at the time and I had yet to full the Arts at Baruch requirement. I don’t believe that this took me out of my comfort zone,  because all i had to do was listen and follow the tour guide. To be honest, I am very indifferent when it comes to art, but i would recommend this workshop to anyone who needs to fill this requirement. When i saw the pictures i thought that it was just weird shapes all mixed together; a feat that anyone, including myself, could do. It turned out that Matter’s paintings was worth around 80,000, and that surprised me. Maybe i should become a painter.
