Basic Interview Skills

I went to the Career Exploration workshop: Basic Interviewing Skills at 12:50 pm on 11/12/09 in room 1-107 of the NVC.

This speaker at this workshop helped teach students what they should and should not do/wear in a interview. She then went on to give us some tips and pointers on what we should do prior and after an interview.  This workshop did not take me out of my comfort zone, because all I did was pay attention. I thought the workshop was going to be on basic interviewing techniques that were common sense, but it was actually very informing, and i learned a lot of new things that i didn’t know before. I would definitely recommend this workshop to EVERYBODY!(yes everybody) because we all, somewhere in time, will have to apply for a job, and interviews are inevitable. Some things i can take away from this workshop were: don’t wear a black suit to an interview (i have one sadly), the different places you can look up the company’s information, and the questions you can ask at then end of the interview. It was time well spent.
