Nature of Photography

Title of workshop: Gallery Tour: The Nature of Landscape/ The Nature of Photography
Category of Workshop: Arts at Baruch
Date/time of workshop: 9/22, 1PM

I wasn’t expecting much from this workshop but in the end I found it very interesting and intriguing. The gallery tour was full of several different kinds of photographs depicting the world and nature in ways not how you would usually view it.

I honestly chose this workshop just to get it over with. I was initially planning to attending this at a later date, but since I wasn’t busy that day, I said ‘why not?’. There was a lot of people who attended this workshop, probably 20-30 people, which was slightly uncomfortable because we were in a small area. When the guide began showing us several pictures, I found the ideas the photographers were trying to covey really innovative and cool.

This workshop had me thinking outside the box and how there can be many different interpretations to the way you can look at things, as an example in the gallery was nature. I learned that if I were more observant of my surroundings, I could discover things I never would have imagined with just a glance. Also that the way other people share what they observe and conceive and open our eyes to different ideas and perspectives. I would definitely recommend this workshop to someone if they were interested in taking the time at looking at each individual photo and making your own observations. All in all, it was fun for me.
