The Nature of Landscape

I attended the Gallery tour: The nature of landscape- the nature of photography workshop at Sidney Mishkin ( October 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM) ; this work shop fell under the “Arts at Baruch” category.  I’d have to say their method of presenting art work in small groups was pretty systematic.  We were better able to understand what each work of art represented.   This is one difference this workshop had that the others didn’t.  The whole simplicity of the place helped focus more attention on the art work, rather than the walls… which i guess is the point of an art gallery.  Our tour lady explained the representaitons of each picture and through this we learned that subtle details in pictures can really establish mood.  Indeed a picture is worth a thousand words.  I particularly enjoy art, so this workshop didn’t really take me out of my comfort zone, however, it was a little boring.  But I still love the natural beauty of nature.  If other students were to take this workshop, they would deffinatley realize little subtleties establish a lot in a work of art.  It was a pretty calm workshop all because of its category- nature.
