Changing America: Judge Sonia Sotomayor

Yes I am about 3 weeks late on posting about this workshop.  I really enjoyed this workshop because the 3 panelists put forth points that I never considered or viewed in that same aspect.  Leaving the workshop, I felt a sense of empowerment and motivation.  I feel a connection to Sotomayor being a female and half  black, half  honduran.

One point that was brought to the table was that ” women’s success is always rationalized” (Professor DiJordan).   The panelist also proceeded by stating that minorities are always appeared to be blessed as if they didnt have credit in their own success.  I also enjoyed the second panelist, Professor Joanna Fernandez.  Basically, she spoke about the continuous savage inequalities.

I didnt expect the panel to be interesting.  I am glad that I did attend.  (9-22-09-VC 7-150, 12:45 to 1:40)
