For my community-global awareness, I decided to participate in a workshop entitled “Changing America” on September 22, 2009. This was a very interesting workshop where the speakers spoke about the impact of supreme court judge Sonia Sotomayor. They give information on how she strived to become the first latino in the supreme court and the same way as Blacks look at Obama, Latinos look at Sotomayor in the same way. I found this workshop to be every interesting, the speakers gave some informative points during the workshop, that caused me to think more about race in the United States. This workshop touched upon a touchy subject, which is the matter of race in the United States and whether or not racism is still a factor in areas such as services, jobs, promotions, etc. I enjoyed this workshop and is surpassed my expectations.
I totally agree with you. I like this workshop, because it was very interesting. It touches upon a crucial topic in America: racism. I have attended this workshop, too. I’m glad that someone can share my feelings. Thank you for your post. By the way, I have posted on the same topic. Perhaps you can read my post and comment. Thank you.
