Changing America: Sonia Sotomayor

The title of my workshop is “Changing America Sonia Sotomayor”. This workshop was on September 22, 2009 in room 7-150 from 12:45 to 2:00 pm. The main goal of this workshop was to inform us of a great event that has taken place in America and its significance. This event involves a great Latin America lady, Sotomayor, who has been chosen to become a Supreme Court Justice. Her appointment to office marked a century where qualified people from any background can become someone great in America.  It signifies how America is eventually leaving a period of discrimination.

I learned a great deal from this workshop. I was able to feel the struggles that women and other minorities had to achieve equality in America. I respect their effort and success.  From this workshop, I learn to respect the rights that I possess. I acknowledge that it is because of these women in history that helped made America a better country for the future ancestors like me.

I would definitely introduce this workshop to my friends. There are great orators who can strike inspiration in you. I am enlightened from this workshop and I hope that my friends can also share my wonderful experience.

I selected this workshop, because my friends wanted to go. I felt that it would be interesting to attend a workshop with your friends. This workshop was out of my comfort zone, because it was rather long. And that day, I was really hungry. But overall, the experience was splendid.
