I went to the workshop after lunch and there was a sign hanging at the meeting room telling us to go to another room. Upon my arrival, the room inside was already full of people and there were more outside who couldn’t get inside. The person conducting the session asked if the people in the room if they had signed up and they said no. She then made them leave and asked the people outside if they had signed up for the workshop. We said yes, gave her our name and went in.
She gave us a packet of paper and our first activity was to fill out what is our strongest personality point for an activity we consider worthy to be on our resume. We then moved on to looking at the general outline of an resume and the teacher talked about the difference between putting down “conversational” language and “fluency” in a language as part of our skill set. We then looked at sample cover letters and thank you notes. Afterwards we had to fill out a survey that asked us if enjoyed the session and why. Overall it wasn’t a bad experience but I wished she had also some sample resumes to show us so we can get a feel of what’s a good resume and what was a bad resume.
