4) How did the workshops affect your perspective of the topic that was discussed?

     This workshop was showing us a video and it told about someone’s decision which can impact on other people and even our society and world, etc. And I think this topic was similar as ‘butterfly effect’ and it was a great opportunity to rethink about the butterfly effect.

5) How did the workshop take you out of your comfort zone?

     I usually don’t consider that my decision will impact to others. However, after watching this video I decide to make my decision very carefully. Because I live in a society which contains a lot of people and I am one of people in the society. So I learend that I always have to consider others and try not to hatch other people by my decision.

6) Explain what the workshop was about and tell us why you specifically chose that woksop.

     I chose this workshop because it was just watching video, so I don’t have to speak or discuss something; I hesitate to choose a workshop which has to take part in some discussion since I am not good at English. However, there was a discussion time and of course I couldn’t participate in the discussion. I hope that I can express my opinion in next workshop.

Gallery Tour

4) How did the workshops affect your perspective of the topic that was discussed?

     Before I went to this workshop, I thought that this workshop will exhibit some famouse drawings, however, it was a exhibition of photos and all of them was black-and-white pictures. It was pretty good pictures and I enjoyed a lot.

5) How did the workshop take you out of your comfort zone?

     As a person who likes to take a photo, this workshop was really interesting for me. And one of the pictures gave me a great impression, because the angle of the picture was somewhat fresh-a curator said the photographer took that picture from the airplane that’s why it looked different- unlike other things.

6) Explain what the workshop was about and tell us why you specifically chose that workshop.

     I chose this workshop because I want to see fresh and creative pictures and it was! I really enjoyes this workshop, however, I would be better that there has more pictures.

Managing relationship in college

4) How did the workshops affect your perspective of the topic that was discussed?

     This workshop teaches student about the ways how to make relationship in college. I didn’t know that there were some steps or some specific skills to make relationship and I was glad to know that.

5) How did the workshop take you out of your comfort zone?

     This workshop make me become more active and positive person to manage relationship in college. And it gives a confidence to make many relationship in college.

6) Explain what the workshop was about and tell us why you specifically chose that workshop.

     This workshop let me know to make relationship in college. Actually I don’t have many friends in the U.S because I came here not that long time ago. However, after this workshop I got a confidence to make friends in the college and I really appreciate about it.

     Actually I didn’t know much about school clubs, however, thanks for the workshop I knew that there were various clubs we had. Also, I was surprised that many students come to club fair. 

5) How did the workshop take you out of your comfort zone?

     The workshop was really active and many students came, so it was interesting for me and I enjoyed a lot.

6) Explain what the workshop was about and tell us why you specifically chose that workshop.

     I chose this workshop because I want to know what kind of clubs are offered and I want  to find the club which is good for me. For this reason, I pick up this workshop without hesitation.

4) How did the workshops affect your perspective of the topic that was discussed?

     This workshop teaches student about the searching method when you want to find some information on Google. It gives us tips such as more effective way to find “the right” thing that I have to use on my work.

5) How did the workshop take you out of your comfort zone?

     This workshop take me out of my comfort zone because before I took this workshop, I didn’t know effective way of searching information. However, I got more confidence with finding information on the web site.

6) Explain what the workshop was about and tell us why you specifically chose that workshop.

     This workshop was about the skills of searching information by using Google, and I chose this workshop because I was not familiar of this kind of searching system.

Let’s talk ethics

4) How did the workshops affect your perspective of the topic that was discussed?

The workshop focused on plagiarism and what dose this concept represent and how severe is for a college student to use this method in his papers. An other theme of the workshop that made me think was the problem of ethics in relation to what is moral and what is not.

5) How did the workshop take you out of your comfort zone?

One of the example that the instructor presented was about a husband who has stolen  medicine from a drugstore for his ding wife because he couldn’t afford them. They asked us if this is ethic or not? I founded to be very difficult to answer this question.

6) Explain what the workshop was about and tell us why you specifically chose that woksop.

This worksop fit realy good in my scaduale because it was during a gap of 2 hours that i had in my schedule ant I founded rely interesting, because it was not just a lecture it was about a conversation between students and instructor.

Mediating Coflict

4) How did the workshops affect your perspective of the topic that was discussed?

I didn’t know before this workshop that we have a department that mediates conflicts between students are between students and professors. I never had any kind of problem with neither my professors or other students, but if in the future something like that occurs to me i will use the services of this office.

5) How did the workshop take you out of your comfort zone?

The problem of thinking about conflict and trying to imagine how would we react type of situation was a bit challenging.

6) Explain what the workshop was about and tell us why you specifically chose that workshop.

The workshop was about how is conflict mediate inside Baruch College and who are the people that are doing this. I chosed this Work shop because it was about something new that I didn’t know nothing about.

Student emploiement fair

4) How did the workshops affect your perspective of the topic that was discussed?

I didn’t know that they were sow many jobs that students can do inside the Baruch College. I was impressed with the variety of jobs from working in the library to working at the center for international students. The majority of students applied for jobs with various departments.

5) How did the workshop take you out of your comfort zone?

I am used to applying for jobs because I worked for 4 years before starting college, so it was nothing new for me. Some of me yongue collages were very interested in obtaining a job at this fair.

6) Explain what the workshop was about and tell us why you specifically chose that workshop.

I chose this workshop because I considered the possibility of taking a job in the campus. At the event different departments of the school had their table were they were interviewing and accepting applications for the open positions in their department.

Mercedes Matter

4) How did the workshops affect your perspective of the topic that was discussed?

Before the work shop I was use to more classic pieces of art, like the famous Renascence paintings were everything is close to reality, were the main topics are people or objects that are painted in a realistic way. This exposition presented a different type of art, more modern and not so easy to understand for people that have little education in the art field.

5) How did the workshop take you out of your comfort zone?

It was a change for me because rarely before this event I admired avant-garde works of art. I am a businesses major student and I don’t interact with art that much…. but I did enjoyed the experience.

6) Explain what the workshop was about and tell us why you specifically chose that workshop.

I chose this work shp because I wanted something different from the previews workshops, something more creative and interesting.

freshmen reception

4) How did the workshops affect your perspective of the topic that was discussed?

This was one of the first workshop  that i attended and I it seemed to be rely interesting . As a freshmen is hard to get used to college, especially in the first weeks. The organizers tried to advises us on how to look at coolege life, on being aware of the fact that now we are responsible for our classes, papers and tests and no professor is going to be chasing us to manage to help us pass the class. The reality is pretty brutal.

5) How did the workshop take you out of your comfort zone?

It made me realize that high-school is over and college is so much difficult than high-school.

6) Explain what the workshop was about and tell us why you specifically chose that workshop.

It was about informing freshmen on what college represents and what should be our approach to college. They gave use valuable tips on haw to get organized and the resources the the college has available for us.
