Gallery Tour Workshop

On Otober 6, I attended the gallery tour workshop in the Sidney Mishkin building. This workshop was a new and fun experience for me because I was able to walk around the gallery and view the artworks. I saw pictures of a plain grassland, a house with two dresses hung on the front lawn, and a dark forest. Out of the several fantastic artworks, my favorite was the picture of four naked bodies that looked like hills on a desert. At first, I thought the picture was unusual and disturbing, but as I kept looking, I understood the artwork’s meaning of portraying many different points of views. One could see it as hills and one could see it as four naked bodies. From this experience, I learned that a picture could have a different feel to it just by changing the color of the picture. For example, a forest with color would show a bright image, but the same forest with a grayscale look would portray a cold, dark image.
