Your Life, Your Money

The workshop showed a pilot for a PBS show designed to educate young adults about personal finance. I liked how they had a lot of food out for us to drink. I was surprised when I saw that the show was hosted by Turk from Scrubs. I heard most of the information that was in the presentation before though. I don’t really need to be told that debt is bad. The way that they used real people’s lives to demonstrate the importance of finance was more engaging than if they just threw information at us. The most informative was the MTA construction worker. Her story demonstrated how government programs and unions can be used to help yourself out financially.  I didn’t feel that the Q&A was necessary. Most of the answers they gave were just information restated from the show. I’ll be looking to see if the show was picked up by PBS.
