In Calculus

I’m in calculus right now and feel a little nervous about the fact that i only understand some of it, granted i should pay attention and get off this blog but i signed up for the SACC center and they should help me. I have all the blogs done and forgot how much blog posts you need so i am doing another one just for good measures.

ADIOS

Freshman Reception in the Center for Academic Advisement

Workshop took place September 18 from 12:30 to 2:30

The workshop was highly unorganized and everyone didn’t really get anything out of it. There were people that got folders that contained information about courses and requirements for the school but there was not enough for everyone. Everyone basically walked in looked around the office and got someone to sign the book planner. There were many people signing but was told after they have signed many that it was counted as an Academic Enrichment workshop.

Happy Turkey Day, everyone!~

Happy Thanksgiven everyone~!
It is a day to say your thanks. I start by saying thanks to everyone who helped me become me today. This year my family actually got a turkey instead of chicken. How is everyone”s Thanksgiven? I bet most people ate turkey and then camp out in front of stores. Have a good one guys. ^.^

Fro Class

Two words for today’s FRO class. Free Droughts. It was a great way to end the day, with a nice donut and a cup of soda. Professor Vogel and Paul are awesome. I am going to miss FRO class. Though, those surveys were really frustrating to fill out. Surveys are annoying.

2nd to last FRO day

So i was thinkin very hard about skippin class today but i figured that its time to be a mature responsible adult/student and attend  class. However, it proved to be a prosperous day when we were rewarded with donuts and soda after taking a brief survey on freshman seminar. I just counted my posts and found i had 9 so now i got 10 posts and im happy about that. Last day is in 2 weeks and im lookin foward to being almost done with the first semester of college. I just hope i pass all my classes and do well.

Impressions Workshops

Today, I went to the impressions workshop. It as really boring. The guy tried to make the students active. He tried to make us talk to each other. It was a failure. I really did not like the workshop, I thought it was really, really boring… I am glad I am done with the workshops. This is so awesome.

Mercedes Matter; A Retropesctive

This was an art gallery workshop focused on Mercedes Matter.  The workshop in particular was very short, maybe 20 minutes at most since i guess there was a lot of people going to this workshop.  We went through the gallery looking at Mercedes work in chronological order, seeing art pieces from when she was kid to her later half of her life.  I’m not an art guy so i was not that really interested leading to the art pieces seem plain and boring to me.  But if you would ask which art piece seem most eye appealing, it would be her latest work.  The charcoal drawings since i guess it looked the most artistic in my view.  If you are in to art i recommend the workshop, if not the i guess go just to get a workshop in.

Your Life, Your Money

Besides being close to two hours long, this workshop got my attention when they offered pizza and beverages in the beginning of the workshop.  What also helped that a good portion of our freshmen section went to the same workshop so it was not as boring since I had people who I can talk too.  But the workshop was meant to show how to manage our money especially since we are young, we would not want to be in debt at a early stage of our lives.

Stress & Anxiety

The workshop on how to deal with stress & anxiety is one I would not really recommend.  It just teaches basic tricks and techniques on how to relive stress when you start feeling pressured by school or anything in life.  I could survive through Baruch without the things they taught in the workshop.  But if anyone needed to get a workshop in i guess it was worth it since it was only a hour long probably 45 minutes.

Community Global Awareness

I attend “Changing America: Judge Sonia Sotomayor” workshop for Community Global Awareness. This workshop was very interesting because there were 4 panelists were gave out their speeches on their views on Sonia Sotomayor. It was very interesting because each of the panelists had different perspectives and opinions on Sotomayor and each of their opinions made sense. Overall, this workshop was very interesting.
