this workshop was kinda fun i wont lie. the activies we did kept us into the workshop and didnt let us drift away. the activity dat we did where we had to choose who we wuld have to save showed us wat kinda ethics we have. i also like this workshop becuz it wwas short. dat being said this workshop was short and sweet!! haaaha
Impression Management
dis workshop was pretty boring. i really didnt pay much attention to it cuz i already kno how to act in da classroom and in a interview. i kno wen its time “for fun” and time to be serious. i feel dat i am mature. this workshop is good for students who arent sure wat dey are excepted of in life or more revelantly to skool and jobs. again this was a boring workshop and i felt like sleepin throught out the whole thing
Values, Pressures and Choosing a Major
dis workshop opened my eyes a bit. it gave me perspective on how people look at where u come from and wat ur culture is. it also showed me how in order to pick a good career and major you need to evaluate the major completely. you gotta kno how it benefits you and ur family. dis workshop also showed me dat you need to pick a career that is u can achieve easily and will bring you the success you want whether its money, family, love or otha good shit like dat. remember its always good to have a PUSHY MUMM!!!! lmaooo
Bearcat Workshop
i thought the bearcat workshop was a helpful one. it showed us where we can access articles that we can use to write papers and all dat good stuff. although we previously had a tour in da library with our english class that gave use the same info it made it more clear how to use da databases. for students who dont kno how to use the library databases dis is a good workshop to look at. overall a good workshop which will help me in da future.
Global awarness workshop.
Well lets start than! I will be honest the workshop we attended few weeks back was an OK. Nothing more. I felt it was even a little childlish. I mean ethics? Seriously? We are all 18+ years old and college students. I’m sure most of us have heared everything covered in that workshop. I thought even the speaker was kind of wondering why are we all there. And those activities? “Who would you rather save?” I remember doing those in middle school and high school. Do we need any more of them? Or maybe they thought everyone would be interested in what other people think? Well unfortunately I wasn’t. I hope that it wasn’t all that bad and maybe couple of people might even learned a thing or two from the workshop, but I did not. And surely it hasn’t put me on any kind of path in the life. Parents are constantly preparing us to face real life by telling whats wrong and whats right. And I’m sure they do a better job than anyone else could.
That’s all and have a good day!
diversity and job internship fair
This workshop was done last thursday on november 26th. This workshop helped me understand how the internship fair worked, and how to be prepared for a future employer. It taught me to be more mature and more business-like when looking for a job and a lot of things matter when looking for a job, especially how you look and how you present yourself to the employer. However, I feel as if this workshop was a bit early for me, because of my freshman status, and this seemed to count more for a sophomore/junior status. However, it is always good to be early and it was a good workshop for people to attend. I would highly recommend it, but some stuff are self-explanatory.
Personal enrichment workshop
The workshop which me and Vance have attended was called values, pressures, and chossing a major. In that workshop we were given simple guidelines on how to choose a major. Although the workshop did not help me decide on my major, I still received a lot of useful information. By the end of the workshop I still had plenty of questions unanswered. I would recommend this workshop to anyone who has troubles choosing a major.
Managing Relations
On October 8th I have attended my Personal Enrichment workshop which was a little bit use to me. This workshop talked about managing professional, family, and romantic relationships. Though most of what was said seems pretty obvious, but I did find a couple of tips useful. One useful tip was to get LinkedIn, since i never heard about it before this has proven to be useful. To improve this workshop I would break it up into smaller groups because it was mainly directed to shy people ,so comfortable environment is preferable. Lastly it should be mentioned that the spokes person was not good at motivating students to meet other people.
Career Exploration
On November 19th, I attended my career exploration workshop. it was the create your personal brand workshop located in room 1-107 at 12:30. they taught me many interesting things that i didn’t know how to do before like writing my own resume or how companies work. i will definantly use this information in the future.
Academic students workshop
In this workshop I learned a lot about many interesting activities in baruch besides the classes themselves. These activities included many different athletic clubs, bussiness clubs, honors club and many others papers. I have learned a lot about baruch and even signed for a couple of clubs. I would recommend this workshop to any freshmen who does not know about many of the clubs in baruch college.
