We attended a personal enrichment workshop called Values, Pressures, and Choosing a Major: New Perspectives on Plotting a Course to Graduation. It took place on Nov 16th from 3 to 4 pm. Basically all we did in the workshop was find out more about ourselves. We got a handout in which we had to answer questions about what goals we have for the future. I would recommend this workshop to other people.
Values, Pressures, and Choosing a Major Workshop
Personal Enrichment
This workshop was informative and useful. The advisor outlined how the power dynamic works in school and how to talk to the right person, if necessary. She questioned us on our dislikes and problems in school and we nominated a spokesperson to have a dialogue with a staff member.
Mediating Conflicts Workshop
I attended the Mediating conflicts and resolving disputes at Baruch College workshop on November 12 from 12:50 to 2:20 in room 3-190. During this workshop, we were thought that communication is the number one thing in resolving conflicts. We learned that conflicts need to resolved and not ignored, because if they are left unresolved more problems will stem. This workshop took me out of my comfort zone, because it was very overcrowded. I had to sit on the floor, with no space to stretch out my legs, and no room to move around because there were people on both sides of me. My back was beginning to hurt from not having any support for my back, but otherwise this was a helpful workshop and i would recommend it to others.
Academic Students Fair
This workshop helped me learn about a lot of things. Most of these things were extracurricular activities like athletics clubs, financial aid, and other things. I would not recommend this workshop because if you really wanted to join a club, searching for it yourself would prove to be less time consuming.
LC09 Gathering
Hey LC09ers,
As you’ve seen from the video I made of my LC last year, we had many get togethers outside classes. I hope I can do the same with this LC. It will be a great way for you guys to relax, unwind and just have fun :] Remember the people in your LC will be your friends throughout your stay at Baruch, trust me some of my closest friends are people I know from LC during freshman year. So let’s just treasure the moment while it lasts. I’m taking suggestions as to what kind of gatherings (outing, dinner, games etc.) we should have. We can have review sessions as well (simnet, study sessions etc.). Let’s talk about this here.
Best,
Linda
Math Blog
I was always good in math, up till this year. I don’t think it is the math that got hard just me being unlucky with the horrible teacher that I received. This teacher can’t teach for his life and will not take his time to make sure we understand what he is supposed to be teaching. When we ask him to slow down he stops for a second, looks at the board, and says “it’s no hard to see”. It would help if he knew how to speak English. He also treats the lesson like its book or a movie of some sort. Everytime he solves a problem and gets close to an answer he always says “ so the moral of the story is…”, like WTF he shows us this but that doesn’t mean we understand how u got to the F**KING MORAL
Career Workshop
I attended this work shop and found it very helpful. I learned some things that will be useful to me in the future such as interviewing skills. Another thing I found out was that I should google myself and see what comes up. I recommend this workshop to everyone.
Academic Enrichment
I attended the Bearcat Workshop which was held on October 20th from 1:30-2:00pm in the library. I think this was a very productive workshop. It showed me how to do better research on a topic if I am ever in need. Sometimes when I am doing a research paper I can’t find everything I need on google, so this will be very helpful. i recomend this to all baruch students who havent yet taken it or are just starting college.
This one is for LINDA and RANDY

November 20th
Does anyone know what we have to do if we cannot make it november 20th? I thought I could leave early from the thing we had to got to, but unfortunately, my boss needs me for 10-3 and I have had trouble switching with somebody for times and what-not.
