  1. Convocation was alright. The tour around the city was nice – free samples just makes everything that much better. Although the opening ceremony and the Bank of America lectures were sort of boring, the Improve group was very funny. I really like our LC, everyone seems really friendly and whenever one of us passes the other on the elevator or in the library we always say hi or go up to them. It’s comforting to know there’s someone out there in the same boat as you.

Freshman Convocation was not as bad as I thought it would be. I was freaked out and annoyed when I heard from some people that it was gonna be from 830am to 9pm. I couldn’t imagine anyone staying in a college/school for 12 hours. When I walked into Mason Hall and sat down waiting for the convocation to start, it felt like I was at a concert / opera. I kept fidgeting because normally I can’t sit that long, I have to be walking around or moving my legs. As the day went by, we had to stay with our groups. I fell in love with ours because everyone was so easy to get along with. I thought Latoya did a very good job keeping us interested in Baruch. She brought us to food stores for samples and in the end of every store, we all loved it! =] Especially Dennis with his Peach Frozen Yogurt. At the carnival, I was amazed at all the clubs that Baruch had, especially Archery – who would have thought that was a club for that in a college? Two of the sororities recruited my friend and I. We’re kinda iffy in deciding if we should join one or not, but we had fun making a wax hand and doing the limbo contest. We passed the first two tries and failed the next but that’s okay! The convocation definitely turned out interesting, engaging and exciting!
