Impression Managing

This Career Exploration workshop covered a lot of basics for how to present yourself at an interview. A lot of it was prior knowledge or common sense, but it never hurts to reiterate what’s important or give a quick refresher. A memorable moment was when the workshop leader told us that not a single person in the room looked ready for an interview. Given, none of us were expecting to actually be interviewed, but she did point out how most of us had bad posture or lacked the ability to enunciate, things we automatically corrected upon her pointing out. This goes to show that there are things we may not notice we are doing, but are still important in an interview. I participated a lot during this workshop, and personally, I think I speak well enough, but I’m still glad to have attended and will keep everything in mind when I apply for my next job.
