As I stepped into the stress and anxiety workshop, I took a seat, and was given a raisin. I had already guessed what was going to happen next, because we had already gone over this excersice in the beginning of my pyschology class early in the semester. We were told to use each sense to explore the raisin as if we had never seen one before. This was a practice of mindfulness techniques. We were instructed to slowly feel, smell, bite and then eat the raisin. This made us more mindful of the situation and was supposed to make eating it much more intense. After we were explained mindfulness techniques, another man came in and taught us about muscle relaxation and how it can help alliviate stress in our bodies. It was a very handy little process and really helped relax muscles all over my body from my legs all the way up to my face muscles.
