The student services fair was another workshop chocked full of important information meant make the lives of freshman like us much easier.
Personally I felt the workshop did do a great job in informing students of the many different facilities Baruch has to offer, from the medical services to the sports teams, which allows students to be better aware of their possible options for different situations.
Some of the information I took back with me that stuck were the fact that we have a whole medical department here to cater to all of the students medical needs. Now this came as a surprise to me because I had spent my last 4 years in a high school that didn’t even have a school nurse let alone a whole entire medical department. Other things include information on sports teams which was cool. I was a little disappointed to find that we didn’t have a handball team but it’s all good considering I probably wouldn’t go see the games anyway.
I learned about the STARR career development center, where it is, and what it can do for me. I find it to be a very interesting resource, definitely something I will be putting to use later on, so something very important to have some background information on.
Other than that i learned about where i can go for tutoring, which also may come in handy very soon for my math class. On top of that i learned a lot of locations throughout the campus and what these locations mean and what they can do for me. All in all it was a very good and informative workshop I can see it helping hordes of freshman in the future.
