On thursday, October 8th, I went to a work shop on Managing relationships. it was kind of interesting. They talked about ways to make and improve relationships. I didn’t like the lady, she was a psychiatrist or something like that. But she made us introduce our selves to new people. Talked about relationships with our family, friends, romatic relationships and networking. There were many people in attendance and this seemed like a workshop for a more intimate group. So that our individual issues could be addressed. All in all, I got what I wanted…. a signature.
Managing relationships in college
Club Fair
The club fair was pretty cool. I was able to see every club available at Baruch. It was pretty crowded though so it wasn’t possible to go to every stand, but that’s alright. All in all it was great to see how everyone was committed and enthusiastic. It motivated me to try out new things during my four years here at Baruch and open my mind up to new activities, etc.
Club Fair
Hellooo everyonee…i think the club fair was pretty awesome, there were many different clubs that were fun to learn about. there was free thai iced tea and chocolate sweets. there was also music and dancing. i thought it was pretty good because you finally get to see every club that is in baruch. 🙂
CLUB FAIR.
When I went to the club fair, it was full with people. It was so crowded and so easy to get lose. But I had fun. I found out about new clubs and saw clubs that I already signed up to join. I was with my friends so it made the event even more enjoyable. I had fun. It looked like everyone there was having fun. I just wish that the gym was bigger because with all that people there it was becoming hot. One thing that I loved about club fair is that at the beginning they gave us those little subway maps. I always have it on because I actually needed one of those. All in all, I have a lot of fun at club fair.
Club fair
The club fair was very crowded but a much better turnout then the freshman openhouse. I had a good time at the club fair as several clubs caught my attention. It was great to see the many unique clubs and organizations at Baruch. The hosts at the clubs I visited were very persuasive. There was a great amount of excitement among students. There was music and dancing which was quite entertaining to watch as well.
Freshman Openhouse
The freshman reception at the center for academic advisement was not at all what i had expected. I assumed that it would be a learning experience;however, I did not learn much at all. I thought that someone would speak to us about course requirements and answer questions. Instead, the room was packed and the line to get in extended down the hall. We were simply handed a folder and students were crowding around a woman to get their handbooks signed. This workshop was a total waste of time. The only plus point was receiving the various handouts about courses for next semester.
Basic Interviewing Skill
This was actually the second Starr Career workshop i have went to. I also went to one right before the career fair. The topic was preparing for the Career Fair. I found this workshop really helpful. They talked about everything i needed to know for the fair and really helped prepare me. So i decided to go to the basic interviewing skills workshop and a lot of the material covered was a repeat of what had been done in the other workshop. nevertheless it was really helpful and i will definitely go back for more workshops. They do a really good job of pinpointing important skills you need to work on and telling you how to improve.
Freshman Advisemnet
Well guys i cant believ i am actually bloggimng for FRO but whatever. I believe we all went to this session. I actually (yes i was surprised) found it very helpful. My adviser mapped out what I needed to take and do in order to accomplish what I needed to do. I definitely left with a better knowledge of the courses and test I would have to take in order to go into the discipline i choose
club tour blog
Like the freshman open house, i found the club tour chaotic but fun. I learned about the club I’m interested in and I’m actually thinking of joining two or three. The music was good and the free candy was a plus. It was a more fun filled experience than the freshman open house
Freshman Openhouse- blog
So to start off I’ve been putting this blogging thing off as most of you have. The “openhouse” in all honesty was just major chaos. It felt unorganized but somewhat informative. The packets on the “Tier” requirements really gave me a grasp on the Baruch requirements and made me consider what courses I will take next semester.
