On November 10th, I attended a Personal Enrichment Workshop entitled: Anxiety and Stress Relief. This was most defiantly my favorite workshop so far. We started off the workshop with a raisin in hand, feeling the surface, then placing the raisin in our mouths and feeling the surface that way. The whole exercise was very relaxing as we did not focus on anything except that raisin. The workshop continued with the lecturers explaining about the different types of stress and anxiety we have or might be facing in the future. They gave us tips on how to deal with this stress and anxiety. They also taught us how to carefully handle difficult situations without becoming overwhelmed and even more stressed. For the last part of the lecture we listened to a tape recording of a man speaking in a low and calm voice. We each closed our eyes and listened to his relaxing voice. I felt this exercise along with the other exercises during this lecture defiantly made me feel calm and continue to feel calm throughout the day. This workshop defiantly met my expectations and I feel I got a lot out of it. I would recommend this workshop to all students because everyone has their own problems and stresses in life and it is nice to take time out of the day to just forget about them all and relax. I have learned much from this experience. I can now handle difficult and stressful situations in a calm and stress and anxiety free manner.
