Community-Global Awareness- Oxford Debate: Gay Marriage vs. Traditional Marriage

 Gay marriage is probably amoung the most controversial topics in the U.S. rite now. In the debate I heard the same arguments and appeals that you hear everyday when it comes to this topic. It was interesting because they had religious views on the topic(which I think was a bad idea) and political views. I thought having a Catholic priest as a part of the debate was a bad idea because i knew everyone would attack the priest in the question and answer section, which they did. If the debate was about gay marriage vs. traditional marriage in the church, then that would have been a different story. I think what everyone had to say at the debate was valid and I believe that all people should had the same rights under state and federal law and the Church has law of its own. The debate was pretty cool though, I voted on the side of traditional marriage no debate could’ve changed my mind about that.
