This workshop was definitely something different for me. I was never really interested in art but this was a photography exhibit so I thought it would be different than some abstract paint splatters on a canvas. Some of my friends also aare into photography so I thought it would make me understand their fascniation with the subject a little more. As I entered the exhibit, I could see there was a photographer there explaining to the curator the types of photos he took. It was nice to have a genuine photographer there becasue if I was interested in photography I would definitely want to ask him a few questions on how he got started and things of that sort. Although, I have to say that most of the other pictures in the exhibit were much more enticing to me than his own pieces. One piece that stood out to me was a picture of the backs of four individuals. these people were nude however, you could only see their backs. The real twist in this picture was that when the photographer put the picture horizontally, the bodies looked like a scene out of the desert, filled with sand dunes. This was definietly a different approach to the theme of “nature of landscapes” and it was no doubt creative.
