First Workshop

Last thursday I attended my first workshop, which was very hectic. Unfortunately by the time I got there, the administrators ran out of supplies, so it was mostly long lines of of students waiting to get there Passports signed. So I didn’t really get much of what a workshop is exactly, however I heard of another one thats going to be going on tomorrow, so hopefully this one goes better.

I didn’t expect the workshop to be so unorganized but I guess everything happens for a reason. It was easier for me to get the signature and leave as soon as possible. I did get some information about the classes I have to take next semester. There was information at the tables and I took couple of them to read and learn how to select classes. This workshop was some what helpful but I think I need more guidance from an advisor. I really want to get over all the workshops as soon as possible. 🙂

Yeah, It was hectic as one of the ladies there told a group of students (myself included) to follow her into a different entrance. Of course by doing so, we missed the stuff being handed out and etc etc. In the end we didn’t know what to do haha. So we just got our passports signed.

Yes, the Academic Advisement Workshop was not what I expected at all. I thought we actually would have gotten to meet and talk to an adviser on a one on one basis. Of course they didn’t know so many of us were going to attend. I agree though, it did turn into a mob of students waiting to get their Passports signed. Hopefully our freshman class isn’t underestimated for future workshops. As we can see, a lot of people did attend. Needless to say, I think I will end up at the Academic Advisement center again since 1. I still need help with a major, and 2. I need help knowing what courses I should or should not take.
