LC 18- Rough roads come to an end

Time certainly passes very quickly and our first semester as college students comes to a close. I appreciate all the advice that Wook gave to me and the LC. Our LC started off early in the semester complaining how we are not really that together but I think we are a lot better than a lot of other LCs in Baruch College. Our LC consists of very unique individuals who are all very special in their own way. For example, we have Sherry with her strong work ethic and Alan Wu with his surprising and unexpected actions. We have Monica aka CG(Candy Girl) who tries to get me, zack and kiwi obese lol. We have the modest and smart dina with her minion Allen. A lot of people in the class have great potentials with big dreams where Juan Sobrero who wants to work at the UN and Justin Lebron who wants to engage in public administration. Who knows Juan can become the next Rob Blagojevich and Justin Lebron as the next Sotomayo. You never know. As everyone goes on in Baruch, I hope everyone a very successful and prosperous future with many good things to come. Maybe you never know we as an LC can have a reunion in a decade or soon.

LC event Bball

I was thinking before the winter really starts kicking in. Alex told me he knows a place near Baruch very close to his house that has basketball courts that we can play at. I was thinking that we can have a LC bball game for fun. I know whoever is on Justin Lebron and Alan Jordan Wu’s team is going to win but it’s a game for fun. Girls can play, too.

Busy week eh?

lots of work this week and the week coming up. Teachers seem to always learn to have all the work due the same week. very annoying but I guess we don’t have much of a choice but we should thank dina who told allen to ask for extension in english. That helped my weekend by a lot. Alan’s Nov 25th event is a good date I believe everyone who can should make the effort to go because it isn’t that expensive and you have the next few days off so it’s not like you have to rush home to do homework or w.e. so don’t miss on seeing Alan Wu singing, dancing and doing funny things.

Baruch College known for diversity

There is a pretty interesting article about Baruch that a friend sent me. But since we are freshman we got time but its never too early to study or prepare for the future. Because what you do know affects your future and where you will go.

Clubs?

So does anyone know any cool clubs to join? The club fair was pretty bad in my opinion. I want a fun club that has nothing to do with anthropology, english , calculus or public administration if you know what I mean. Nothing too physically tiring either.

Database Survival

I went to the library to hear the guy talk about how the baruch database can be used. There is a lot of information that we are given for free. For example you dont have to buy the New York Times because it is all in the newspaper section of the Baruch library website. Not only that there is a lot of magazines that are also available but the only problem is that you have to know what articles you want so you have to put in a certain phrase or certain name to get results. Reuters is not offered online so the only way you can use that is by going to the library or the stock quotes location whatever they call that. The database survival thing was pretty quick so if you didnt get your academic enrichment part of your workshop signed yet this is a very easy workshop. Show up and listen.

Freshman Reception

The first workshop that I went to was the freshman reception and it was absolute disaster. There was a lot of students standing around on the 5th floor and when we finally got into the room we got a folder with core curriculum related stuff and what we need for graduation. There was also a huge line inside the room where food was being offered but I didn’t want to wait so I left afterward. This was a terrible start that I would have never expected. They obviously didn’t prepare for it and students were all grumbling here and there. It was chaotic and there is no experience I can take away from this.
