The workshop took place in the multipurpose room. Upon entering, I saw rows of chairs and many freshmen lining up to be signed in. There was also PowerPoint shown on both sides of the room so students don’t always have to focus on one side of the room but the other side as well. The speaker then began the workshop by introducing herself and then about internship and how it can benefit us. There were different types of internship that students can apply for such as paid or unpaid ones but I never knew that there existed a college credit ones. It basically means that you can sign up for a class, but instead of going to class, you work as an intern and you get credits for interning at a specific company. I thought that was pretty cool and should definitely apply for it in the near future.
She also gave us a booklet of all the information we need to know to get an internship. In it contained information on how to write a resume along with samples ones as well as how to dress up for interviews. She was very informative about what she has to say to us. On top of that, she kept us engaged by having group discussions with one another. Even though this internship manual is about how to get an internship, it can also help me find jobs in the future and that’s what I find most helpful about this workshop.
