I went to a workshop and it was about Global-Community Awareness. This workshop was mainly about racism and how it affects people’s lives. There was a professor from Stony Brook University and he made a long and great speech about how racism affects the students in Stony Brook. He spoke about how if these things happen in Stony Brook, it would be the same in other schools.
After the speech, there was a panel of staff and students that came to talk about the situation and elaborate on the speech given by the professor from SBU. They each gave a story that they experienced from their life and it reached the audience. One of the speakers talked about how one of her students had to drop her class just because her ethnicity wasn’t accepted in the classroom. This workshop opened up many opportunities for people who want to change the world.
