I attended the student service fair on October 13th in the multipurpose room. This workshop introduced me to many of the offices and departments here at Baruch College. There were tables set up all around the room with representatives at each table. We had to go up to each one and find out more about that department or program. We were given a raffle ticket of some sort. Every time you saw a representative they would punch a hole in your ticket. If you received ten hole punches you could hand it in for a chance to win some prize or something. Apparently I did not win.
I went up to the transfer office table and asked the representative about transferring out. She told me that they didn’t deal with people who wanted to transfer out, only people who transferred in. She seemed mad that I even wanted to transfer out. She did not punch a hole in my raffle ticket so I had to visit an extra table. I also talked to a representative about honors programs. I don’t think I’ll be able to meet the requirements to get into any honors classes. Overall it was a informative learning experience, but it was a bit crowded and hard to pay attention to a representative so many people talking right behind you.
