This was a very typical workshop which I attended on October 22nd that I forgot to blog about. Held in the multipurpose room, it was very crowded, long, and ultimately not very useful. That is because although the workshop was very detailed about undergraduate internships, it did not really give me any new information.
The speaker reiterated the importance of strong GPAs and extracurriculars when it comes to securing internships. She also spoke about the resume and interview skills- about how slight tweaks in each can really help a candidate standout. She also explained the importance of internships in general as internship experience can greatly help us when we are looking for a job.
She also explained how internships can be different; some for example, offer college credit. Many useful websites for searching internships were provided. Ultimately, even though the speaker did well explaining internships, the overview didn’t really tell me things I did not know.
