We had a guest speaker Carl Stranstorm who spoke about whether justice in America was something citizens brought themselves with their own money or was given to them from the beginning. It was discussed with judicial system and the pros and cons. State legislatures select judges. it’s democratic tendency is the advantage and the disadvantage is judges actually have to campaign to gain popularity and stuff.
This has been argued over and over. Why do they have to spend that much money to campaign themselves to be selected? Last time, one candidate spent about 3 million dollars for a campaign. Is it that necessary? Do the parties and the government have the right to use that much amount of money just to campaign? Many people don’t think that is a right behavior since the money comes from our pockets.
