Date attended: September 17
I could’ve sworn I blogged about this, but I guess not since it’s not listed in any of my posts. So i’ll try to say as much as I can to my recollection.
From what I remember, I got an invitation in the postal mail as well as email to attend this workshop (which probably explains why there was such a large turnout). My initial reaction was to attend this workshop to begin fulfilling my freshmen requirements. The invite also mentioned refreshments, so I think that was what incited me to go–free food! 🙂
I went to the room that was printed on the invitation, but so many freshmen showed up that they had to separate us and put us in a separate room. So I went to one of the lecture rooms with Eleanore and Joann, but it was pretty empty when we got there, until a couple more people started showing up. We waited for a bit before an academic advisor came to speak to us. Eventually Ms. Brown came to tell us that they were not expecting such an enormous turnout, hence, they were unprepared.
So she simply told us to line up to get our planners signed, but unfortunately for me I didn’t bring my planner. So for those of us delinquents who failed to bring our planners, we had to sign a paper confirming our attendance, and later had to find Ms. Brown in the Office of Academic Advisement to sign our planners. A couple days later I found her in the office and got my planner signed.
That’s my experience at my first enrichment workshop at Baruch.
