Internship & Résumé Workshop

I went to the STARR Career Development Center’s Workshop on finding and applying to internships on Thursday, October 22 and we were greeted and spoken to by Theresa Conway, the Internship Coordinator at the SCDC. We were told about the different kinds of internships that existed (paid, non-paid, school credit internships, leadership programs, full-time and/or part-time); the corporations, firms, and organizations that offered them; and what tools and databases we ca n utilize to find and apply to these über-competitive internships. In order to guide us along, we were given the Undergraduate Internship Manual, a 56 page booklet on internships, résumés, interview tips, résumé and cover letter examples and formats, and networking. If you don’t have one, I would recommend you get one at the Career Development Center if they carry any extra copies. The workshop was lengthy, running from 12:30 to 2:00, but it was informative, well organized and truly time well spent.

Okay, thank you. I registered for the workshop tomorrow. :] Its also a career planning thing, I hope they have that booklet too, it would be a helpful thing to have.

I registered online, but I believe a couple of people from our LC attended the workshop without knowing pre-registration was required. It takes only a minute to pre-register so you might as well just do it to make sure.

Heys, I have a question, for this workshop, did you have to register online to attend the workshop? Or can someone just show up without registering?
