Myself. I am someone who is afraid of change, and afraid of scary movies. I am someone who enjoys the smell of fresh laundry and movies on my laptop. I tend to be a happy person, but everyone can get annoyed at times. My time is usually when I wake up from a nap. Being someone who is afraid of change, college would’ve seemed difficult to me. Surprisingly, it was really easy to adapt to. My only concerns for college as of right now would be maintaining a 3.5 or higher GPA. Seeing that I am planning to join an organization, I am hoping that it wont get in the way of my studies. Another concern of mine would be internships. Everyone is aware of the fact that college is the most common place to start having internships. Although I want one, I’m afraid I won’t get one. In addition, I am concerned about whether or not Baruch can provide me the opportunities I need to have a great start in my career life.
College is just simply different from high school. For one, I am dorming. I am living on my own and being independent. While back in high school I lived 3 blocks away from school. Factors that will make my Baruch experience different would be joining organizations such as sororities, etc. The fact that we get to go off campus to dine is also a factor that is different from high school. My first year of college has already changed me, I already became less shy and willing to talk to people I just met. I believe that my first year will help me become more independent about living alone, taking care of myself, and being responsible. I think it will also help me be more comfortable with change because college forces you to constantly meet new people. In the future, you don’t know who you’ll end up knowing.
